I've been watching some of our new shows, and so far I like what I see. I haven't watched all of the new episodes, but here's what I think of what I've seen:
Prison Break - Season one was great, season two was a bit shaky, but the first episode of season three has reinvigorated my faith in the show. I particularly like how the opening is the same as the first two season, but with Sona as the prison. I look forward to what this season has to offer.
K-Ville - The first episode was interesting, although I'm undecided about this show. There's nothing really wrong with the show, it's just "first episode blues." More often than not, the first episode of a new show isn't as strong as the next several, so I'll have to give it some time.
Back to You - I love it. Then again, I did used to work in broadcast news, so a lot of these jokes are particularly funny as a result of my experiences. I wonder how long until we see
Twiggy.
'Til Death - The best way I can describe this is steady. It's not the funniest show on TV, but it's not boring, either. I like the cast and the show makes me laugh. My wife and I are both pretty goofy, so the show appeals to us insofar as we can relate to the characters. We'll keep watching for sure!
Kitchen Nightmares - I love to cook, I love Gordon, and I love Hell's Kitchen. As such, I was excited to watch Kitchen Nightmares. The premiere episode didn't disappoint! Like many reality TV shows, I kept wondering why everyone put up with the stupid guy holding everyone back, but I was pleased to see that, in the end, he had a revelation and really started pitching in. It's a fun show and I look forward to the next episode!
TMZ - The only way I can describe this show is Entertainment Tonight meets Blind Date. The irreverent way in which news about the celebrities is presented is humorous, and really different from anything I've seen before. Personally, I don't really care what famous people are up to, but TMZ doesn't seem to care either. The show seems less concerned with reporting what they're doing and more focused on making fun of celebrities doing stupid and embarrassing things.
I've also watched several videos on the
TMZ section of our website. It's addicting. -)
